Obama Calls For Help In Iowa and Elsewhere

This is going to be a short diary, but I think it's worth it to see what our nominee is doing in the wake of the tragic weather events in the Midwest.

Barack Obama's website has on it's front page a call to action to help the people in Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Indiana and Illinois suffering after the floods and tornadoes of the past week. The link on the website is to the American Red Cross

So if you can, perhaps you can skip the donation to Obama this week (or do both if you are financially able to) and give to the Red Cross and help our fellow Americans recover.

Hey, even if you a Republican or a Democrat who doesn't want to donate to Obama, maybe you can give whatever you would've given to your candidate to the Red Cross.

I'm sure many of us here knows what it feels like to go through a terrible natural disaster. Whether those of us out west have survived earthquakes, or tornadoes in the middle of the country, hurricanes down south and along the eastern seaboard, or floods pretty much anywhere.

Let's take a moment this weekend to reach out to those who have had the worst week of their lives.

this oppurtunity is perfect for him (none / 0)

to do to McCain what Clinton did to Bush during Hurricane Andrew in 1992, as Bush took forever to respond. While in the end, Clinton didn't carry Florida in 1992, he did get it for 1996 and made it close in 1992. Obama should go to Iowa and those states to get every photo op he can, run ads everywhere, blaming Bush alertness on the non-response of the Government. This is really where he can score some points. Wisconsin and Iowa are already swing states, and maybe he can do better in West Virginia than we think if he helps them out or trys to there. He should also introduce a bill in Congress to relieve these people, hope McCain opposes it and hammer away.
